Federal law sets a maximum speed of 25 mph for low speed vehicles (which a
GEM is).
Whether or not your state would allow you to change the registration on the
vehicle to make it a standard auto is questionable and besides it probably
wouldn't be safe at that speed since it was never designed to go that fast.
