I had a feeling that you were going to make this bold
prediction, because you knew that it would be true. This morning
I rushed out to the recovering patient and found all to be well.
After I topped it off and took it off charge, it rested over 230
volts for about a full minute, something I haven't seen it do in
years. I figured the real test would be when I took it out on the
road, but I was already getting the sneaking suspicion that it would
behave like a new pack again. I watched the E-meter closely as I
drove and saw the pack behaving far better than what I've become used
to over the last year or two. Things like cruising along showing
200+ Volts on the E-meter and only dipping to nominal while pulling
100 amps are things I haven't seen in quite a while on this tired old
pack. When I got back home, it would have typically been resting at
around 197 or 8 after this length trip, but it was over 200 the whole
way up the gravel driveway and was resting at 204 as I brought it to a
stop. I think I'll plan on having this same accident again someday.
I have more respect for Optimas now than ever. I started to
respect them highly clear back when Madman Rudman accused Wayland of
thinking that the sun was powered by a single YellowTop, and the
independent research that was done at the time showed this to be
correct. I have even more respect for them now that I've seen how
they can absorb a full charge and then gobble up that much more
again on top of that in a short time and only get stronger from
the abuse.
.....I'm just glad I didn't destroy the little fellers.
Seeya,
John
