Actually, the EV1 used the 12 volt version of the Delphi battery.  Same 
physical dimensions as the 8 volt, but more cells.  I have a stack of dead 
ones at my house (the original pack plus spares from my Civic 
EV)  Unfortunately, while I am only planning on sending them to recycling, 
they are in too poor a condition to consider putting in an EV.  Most are 
down to less than 15 AH of capacity from the original 53 AH, and some are 
shorting and swelling.
