You misunderstood. What I'm asking is has anyone actually seen an NG3 go into
thermal shutdown. As far as I'm concerned the temperature sensing circuit on
the unit I'm working on is incorrectly designed and cannot detect an
overheat, or even sense internal temperature at all. The shutdown temp. is
specified as 100C at an ambient test temp. of 55C.

I'm working on a replacement logic card for the NG3 in order to address the
charging problems I've been having and that Sparrow owners have also been
having. The ability to interface with per-battery voltage and temperature
monitoring equipment are the kinds of things I'll implement.
