Tom,

will try to lock up when forced to spin in the opposite direction than
indicated by the electrical connection. Hook up the A2 and you get a mild
braking effect instead.

Disconnect the A2 and your truck will not roll very far in reverse. Instead,
once it gains a little speed, it will feel like you slammed the brakes on
(not pleasant). Connecting the A2 will prevent this but it will not stop the
car from rolling backwards on a hill.
