There are a number of diesels that do not have glow plugs! But they all have injectors. It is a relatively simple process to machine spark plug adapters for the injector orifices. Ergo -- easy to return to conventional operation. Using modern electronics from any of the newer automobile designs there is no real problems doing the timing and firing order. A magnet positioned on the front pulley. Compression can be varied easily by thicker head gasket -- for non destructive adaption. Or by digging out piston crowns for a more permanent conversion.
