Is this direct fired turbine similar to the process used by Bioten? They have a fluidized bed combustion unit fueled by biomass which powers a hot air turbine to produce electrical power. The system in Red Boiling Springs, TN uses about 15 tons per hour of biomass to produce about 8 MW of electricity and 50 MBTU of heat. Steam is not used in this system.
