NEW WEBSITE TO HELP REPORTERS AND THE PUBLIC
LINK UP WITH ENERGY/ENVIRONMENTAL EXPERTS
Also Will Provide The Latest News, Information and Background
on Renewable and Sustainable Energy Technologies
(Washington, DC)‹A new website launched this week will help reporters and
others instantly find experts on a wide range of energy issues from
renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency to climate change. The
site also provides information on new technologies that promise to transform
the face of energy use in real, practical ways. Additionally, the site
offers timely news on energy and related issues, weekly updates and links to
breaking news.
The site (www.sustainableenergy.org) was launched by the Sustainable Energy
Coalition (SEC), one of the nation¹s leading sustainable energy advocacy
coalitions.
³This site will be an invaluable asset to those who cover and are interested
in energy and environmental issues,² said Susanna Drayne, SEC coordinator.
³Energy issues have certainly been front and center in the national press
recently, and our website will provide the context to the debate that has
sometimes been lacking. We are excited that we can provide resources to
help clarify these issues.²
The SEC brings together more than 30 national business, environmental,
consumer and energy policy organizations. Founded in 1992, the Coalition
promotes increased federal support for energy efficiency and renewable
energy technologies and reduced federal support for unsafe or polluting
energy resources.
Coalition members advocate federal energy policies that will lead to a
cleaner environment, safe reliable energy technologies, and a secure,
prosperous future for all Americans. Avenues for Coalition activity include
policy decisions on the federal budget, electric utility restructuring,
pollution prevention, climate change, and tax policies.
Member organizations of the SEC do not support every item or issue adopted
by the Coalition and generally focus on their issue area within the
Coalition recommendations and policy positions.
