GP: Powering the tanning salon
Do any of you have thoughts on serving small loads like a tanning salon
with small scale DG? I would like to know if anyone has a theory to
reduce the energy cost of a tanning salon, or any small electrical
consumption. Most everyone seems to be focused on serving only large
customers with distributed generation technology. I seldom see any post
to service the smaller loads like light commercial or residential.
Is it not cost effective to consider a DG application for customers with
light electrical demands? What about a demand side management program
tied to a time of use rate plan. I would suggest PV for obvious reasons,
however this type of application would make PV cost prohibitive for most
small business. I am interested in offering a different solution that
would be both cost effective and increase demand for more modern
technology.
