Breathing the fine particles of flyash is indeed dangerous, the only real 
health concern that is based on fact not superstition.  As one those 
exceedingly rare folks who often dares to venture into the real world, I 
would point out that the particle size distribution of clay and cement also 
contain a large portion of small light particles that can damage your 
resperatory tract -- take the appropriate precautions in handling all of 
these!!!!  BTW, I have also heard, unsubstantiated, that the small wood 
particles that are released during wood cutting with sharp high speed saws 
are at least as danagerous since they are in the same size range (although 
they may be dissolved in the lung)
