GBlist: waste disposal
I have been asked to develop suggestions for a unified approach amongst
seven local cities, and the unincorprated county (San Luis Obispo, CA), to
construction and demolition waste management. Increasingly, planning
departments are requiring the development of a Waste Management Plan, but
without any ordinance behind it, requiring recycling, the plan can be next
to useless.
San Jose, CA, is looking at an advance fee waste 'deposit', returned upon
job completion, with verification of recycling. What other cities,
counties, esp in CA, have developed ordinance language or programs that
require C&D recycling? I will be contacting Alameda county and Santa
Monica directly, as they have probably looked at this already, but others?
Reply off-list, if you would, and I will organize the responses and post
back to the list.
Thanks for any help.
