GBlist: new material

Just ran across mention of a new material called "foamed aluminum". The
item said it was 10 times as strong as regular aluminum (didn't mention
what kind of strength was involved) and 1/10 the weight. Can't help
wondering what implications this might have in building. Anyone here know
about it?

The item in Wired said info was available at www.materialconnexion.com. I
checked there but didn't see anything on that specific material--but have
to add that I got a bit impatient with the page design so gave up without
too much looking. An interesting site if it were better designed.
