I agree with Mike about the price, but I haven't heard claims of 7/inch for dense-pack cellulose.  I think it's closer to 4/inch.   As usual, you get what you pay for!

Icynene does have a lower expanding mix that they use in retrofits.  However, the price is much higher than cellulose (or blown in fiberglass).  At about the same R-value per inch, Icynene has been double the price of dense pack cellulose when I've priced it.
