Marilyn,

Several questions- what kind of tile?  Is it vinyl, PVC, ceramic,
porcelain, wood, cork....?
Each has its own adhesive.  I use a lot of ceramic and porcelain tile in
jobs here and have never had any problems with the mastic.  We specify
Laticrete products, including the acid-free grout.
