The adhesive comment brought one flash to mind. A couple of years ago we
had a kitchen floor installed, luan, fancy foot square vinyl tiles, really
nice. But the installer did not use the proper adhesive. Guess what is
slowly moving around over the period since--the tiles. Gaps as much as an
eighth of an inch have developed, corners are coming up just enough to snag
here and there, etc. The factory rep has been out, etc, etc.

Moral of the story, check out and strictly follow the mfr's instructions,
and be damn certain that the Dap or other product used in place of the
brand of the covering mfr's is OK. The fuming that follows may come from
the top of your head instead of the floor.
