Re: GBlist: Insulation Retrofit - Fiberglass batts vs blown in cellulose

J.B.,

I wasn't aware off the galvanic corrosion possibilities. The
house we are working on has no pipes in the exterior wall except hose
bibs through the foundation. It is best not to have pipes in the exterior
wall anyway but we all know it happens. Thanks for the caution.
Most common insulations have fire safety problems of one kind or
another, don't they? I have seen plenty of vermin in fiberglass batts as
well.
I have no financial interest in the cellulose industry, just
uniformly bad experience with batt insulations of all kinds. (Fiberglass,
rock wool and cotton anyway.) I am just looking for a better way.
