Title: Re: GBlist: wall insulation
I suggest dense-pack cellulose.
    Jonathan Morse

We have a retrofit project to make offices out of an old barn and cannot
tear the siding off and do Strawbale so would LOVE to know any ideas
for using straw/clay or other non-toxic, inexpensive insulation materials.......

Other factor is time...we have tried mixing straw with clay with the
drying time turning out to be VERY long so we may move to put filler
in the wall like Cordwood..

P.S. We are working around existing studding and liked the idea of ramming
stuff between existing siding and an inside truss idea.
