Re: GBlist: Re: Big Green: AIA Credits

Mary:
My comments were my own opinion and I hope that I did not give the impression that I spoke on behalf of the AIA.
And I also don't wish to give the impression that I feel the AIA or its Continuing Education program are without
value. I was merely voicing some concerns that I, as a member of the AIA, have regarding how the organization
gives credits for that education, particularly in light of the recent policy change to remove the Quality factor
from CE credits. Now one hour is one hour regardless of the type of information presented or the method of its
delivery- magazine article, product presentation, professional seminar, etc. I fully support CE requirements for
licensure and I think that the AIA should continue to support that trend. However, I feel the AIA's internal
system needs refinement and the magazine LU's have been troubling me since Architectural Record began running
them. Bruce's comment provided me with an opportunity to let off some long-brewing steam- I didn't mean to
offend.
