Can't help you with a source or a substance, Bruce, but will pass along a
thought: my place has natural cedar siding, and some of it (depending on
exposure) gets a bit of black mould on it at times. I clean the spots
with a paint brush and some H2O2 (letting light do most of the work), then
brush it with a little antifreeze after it dries, before using the Moore
product I use for keeping it in (mostly) decent shape.
My deck, though (including the railing) I've let turn naturally grey, and
plan to keep it that way. It makes a nice contrast with the "natural"
cedar of the siding. At some point I may use some ferrous sulfate (not
sure I have that right, actually) on it to make it a livelier grey and
more uniform.
