RE: GBlist: alternative wallboard

Heidi.
The FIBEROCK product from USG has two faces of extremely thick paper facings
although they can neither confirm or deny it is recycled content. USG
purchased the license to this product when Louisiana Pacific decided to drop
it several years ago. Each face is approximately 1/8 IN thick and if that
is recovered fiber I'd think it would qualify as somewhat a green product.
This stuff costs more since it is intended to be used in areas where one is
seeking a more abuse resistant product and I have strongly recommended it
instead of those abhorrent pvc wall cladding that we sometimes are forced
into specifying.
