Thanks, that helps a lot.  Is there a comparable selection and
availability of compact flourescent lightbulbs with and without
ballasts?  I assume that those without ballasts are less expensive.
And are replacement ballasts readily available?

At this point are there compact floursecent bulbs available that will
fit most any light fixture?  If buying a regular fixture with the
intention of using compact flourescent bulbs in it, what should you
look for?
