Since my post about Dana, I've received a number of very thoughtful and
heartfelt replies.  I'm reminded of the extraordinary qualities of the
people who form this virtual community.

When Sarah read my post this morning, she was afraid that folks would feel
preached and condescended to.  Reading it over now, I can she why she'd
think that, and why someone may have felt spoken to that way.  If so, I
apologize.

Perhaps email isn't the best medium for discussions of "big picture" topics
all the time.  People have limited time, and they often just need a quick
answer to a technical question.  I'm sure that each person who participates
in these forums is mindful of the larger purpose behind this work as  he or
she goes through their daily tasks.

I hope everyone on these lists knows how deeply I appreciate the knowledge,
experience and humanity of all the participants.  A number of you have just
demonstrated those qualities in a way that has deeply touched me.  Thank
you.
