Re: [GBlist] Legionella discussion

Whoa is right! Why do you deride John Herbert for raising public safety
concerns, based upon hard facts, while appearing to back the promoter of a
Combi that's illegal in many towns; dangerous in all?

Additionally, pressurized coils in poorly constructed slabs pose other
threats. Builders willing risk Legionella by cutting corners may do likewise
on slab-reinforcement.

For example, in the 1970's a large tract in Thousand Oaks, CA became
know as the "cracked-slab" area some years after an unscrupulous builder cut
coners on slab-reinforcement. Had these homes been heated by pressurized,
imbedded hydronic heating coils (then about 100 psi), it may have become
known as the cracked-slab-swamp.
