RE: [GBlist] Getting Bion started [ off-topic]
Hey all:
This week is the 22nd anniversary of the Three Mile Island nuclear power
plant "problem". There was a special about it on the Discovery Channel last
night. Nulear contamination was released but fortunately not a tremendous
ammount. Surprising that the plant was probably within 30 minutes of a
total meltdown. Chernobyl (sp?) was fun too, wasn't it?
I also enjoyed the PBS special by Bill Moyers lastnight about the chemical
industry.
The good news is that design for sustainability considers these things. The
Triple-Bottom-Line philosopy of sustainability; ecologhy, economy and social
equity, forces us to consider what it takes to do the right thing. In my
opinion, PVC and nuclear power, among other things, do not fit in this
philosophy are not options that lead to a sustainable future.
Cheers,
Ralph Bicknese

Uh, so, like, what's wrong with Nuke-you-ler (as Micheal Douglas, actor and
international anti-nuke crusader pronounces it) Energy anyway ?
There's a Climate Change Expert who is a perfesser at Carleton University in
Ottawa who regularly writes articles for the Southam newspaper chain
educating us about how nuclear-generated power is THE solution to the
problem of greenhouse gas emissions.
He also teaches us that Global Warming is a myth created by
Environmentalists whose secret agenda is to promote economically-improbable
(in his opinion) renewable-energy strategies.
He must be right because he has the data to prove his assertions and there
are apparently thousands of Scientists who share his opinions, and they even
have a website where Scientists can add their names to the list. One can
always believe Scientists With Credentials and what one reads in the
newspaper and on the wwweb. Right ?
Is Bion started-up yet ?
