Hi Tom

For rain catchment I would personally like the use of metals - copper
preferably, zinc as well. Poly is the preferred plastic, abs 2nd. Copper and
some zinc alloys (or galvanized piping) have the benefit of adding a little
bacterial resistance to the mix.Copper piping in larger dimension can often
be bought used reasonably.
