Hello Tom,
Both the WaterWatts and DrainGain DHR systems have built-in heat storage 
capacity allowing DHR from batch sources as well as from showers. Heat 
is transferred to cold water whenever it may flow. No need to revert to 
your well intentioned but unlikely senarios to save serious energy (and 
money).
