RE: [GBlist] Taxing

Title: RE: [GBlist] Taxing
well, i'm thinking (maybe too idealistically) that if we all actually had control over our money,
that we could probably pay for these things that we actually needed and wanted instead of paying the government our taxes to spend willy-nilly on stupid stuff that none of us really care for.

i guess i think that the US population is smarter and better able to get things done than the government.  leave it in the private sector and it gets done. leave it up to the bureaucrats and it gets done over-priced in twice the time.

don't you think that we have the capability to band together and get things done without the aid of the government?

That's nice. How do you pay for roads, schools, police, fire, etc?

personally i think the whole country should revolt against
any form of taxes since that's why we left england in the
first place, to get away from taxation!!!

my daughter is studying roman government in social studies
and they had a senate and a republic just like we do.
and slowly they ended up in a dictatorship.....
is that where we're headed?  if history truly
repeats itself, its only a matter of time.

Hear hear!  First time I've heard anyone else mention a transactions tax.
I hope it's not the last. . . .
