There is not enough discussion of green building 
on the greenbuilding list.  The digressions would 
be less harmful if they were surrounded by a 
large volume of on-topic discussion.

The problem with the off-topic arguments is that 
they make the list look like a hundred other 
lists.   I believe the people I want to hear 
from, professionals in building, and amateurs who 
are engaged in building,   take the ratio of 
off-topic to on-topic discussion as a sign that 
the list is a time waster.  It may be that if the 
list were moderated to reduce this ratio, these 
people might be attracted back.
