From that site:
"The Philadelphia Roofmeadow® is a Type 2 profile which has been tailored for ‘retrofit’ and urban rehabilitation projects in the Mid-Atlantic states. It weighs less than 15 pounds per square foot when completely saturated. "

I wonder if the typical roof I described can handle that additional load.

And what it costs?

As the summer heat builds here in NYC, I'm wondering if any of these green roof systems are suitable for the typical low-rise building here: a small footprint  brick building with wood joisted flat roof. I've always assumed that this type of roof cannot support the weight of a green roof. But if it could be done, wouldn't it be wonderful to simultaneously help abate the city microclimate problem and make the roof "habitable."
