[GBlist] Housewrap compatibility with Tyvek(r)

Housewrap compatibility with Tyvek(r)

A supplier to one of our clients claims that there have been reports that
Tyvek and similar house wraps lose their effectiveness over time because
they react adversely
with the adhesives in OSB.

Tyvek is a spun-bonded polyolefin product, and could be reacting with
binder/adhesives that would residually come to the surface of the oriented
strand board sheets. I do not know the chemistry of such a reaction if
indeed this concern has been documented.

The supplier claims there have been some lawsuits, though I haven't been
able to find any reports on the Net.

I would be interested in any factual reports about this (potential) issue.
