It is not logical that they are likely to crack.  You mean that the millions
of septic tanks (what you are going to use, right) are cacked and leaking?
Couldn't you waterproof it with Tuff n Dri?  They probably wouldn't approve
it for food grade use, but Thoroseal probably wouldn't either.
