[GBlist] Greenbuilding: Community Greenhouse

Dear Buzz Burrell,
I invite you to look at the solaroof technology for northern climates which you can find at www.solaroofgarden.com by clicking on the "north" link. You will probably like to visit the "DL Insulation" page as well.  These pages show a horizontal roof  construction for larger-scale buildings that specifies a "pole" type of structure, using columns and open web joists to form a frame that can carry a snow load. The cover material is strong re-inforced film laminates that have good too high transparency.

For smaller hobby greenhouses refer to the "green house" navigation link to take you to a page that illustrates a design suited to smaller structures where the snow load can shed to the ground. This is a modified A-frame or tunnel structure that uses bent "hoop" framing members to support the interior film and cavity space air-pressure to support the exterior film-layer of the roof cover.

The Dynamic Liquid systems bring a revolutionary efficiency to the operation of these new solar greenhouse designs. I would be pleased to answer any questions you have and assist you to use these new innovations in your demonstration project.  This is the purpose of solaroofgarden.com - to povide knowhow for DIY projects and build a GrassRoots program to share experience through a global internet based collabortive movement.
