[GBlist] building on piers

recent Fine Homebuilding article on copper clad studio built on piers brought
up a question - I understand that building on piers can save tres etc, BUT
how does one keep the underside "sealed" from animals bugs etc ??? and if
fairly close to the ground how does one deal with moisture and snakes etc etc
??

I suppose you could use sips for the floor system ?? if using joists would
ARGH pressure treated plywood be the best thing to use on the bottom ??
Thanks for ideas Linda Lloyd
