[GBlist] Dehumidifiers?

Hi again:

I have, the last couple of bi-monthly bills, had my usage double from last
year. There is only one more person living in the house (3 upstairs, 1 in
private basement apartment) so there should only be a room light and a
couple loads of laundry extra.

I can't figure out what is going on, unless the humidifier I bought is doing it.
the bill shows "Avg KWh per day, and it has risen from less than 15 to
about 30. Is the dehumidifier the possible culprit? If so, is there a site
that gives comparative energy use of different models, or are they all
about the same? With what this is costing me, I could pay off a new
humidifier quite soon with the savings, if there are more efficient brands to
use. The one down there now, purchased second-hand, is a Sears
Coldspot.
Thanks for any advice, comments, or sites . . .
