RE: [GBlist] staining concrete floors

Karen:

Staining concrete can be very finicky.  My advice is to work with someone who has done this before and have them make you a large sample panel before going ahead.  If you are accepting of a lot of variation, spottiness, etc., you may be satisfied.  I have specified and seen stained conc. floors specified several times and the clients are usually a little put off when they first see their big ole floor all done.

Nevertheless, stained conc. floors can be very attractive and appropriate for many applications.

Regards,

Ralph Bicknese

Subject: [GBlist] staining concrete floors

Hello everybody -

Has anybody had any experience with staining the concrete slab to produce a finished floor?

We have radiant tubing inside the slab, and would consider tiling, but would also consider simply staining the concrete.  Any advice?

Thanks, Karen Gros
