Re: [GBlist] need help finding smart light bulbs...mercury?
I believe that all florescent lighting contains mercury and argon (harmless) as well as the phosphors. The most dangerous thing on a nuclear submarine is not the radiation but the florescent lights. If you break a bulb there are special procedures to get the mercury. Mercury much like it does on a gold ring will damage piping systems. Breathing airborne is not good for you as well. I wonder if your appliance repairman carries a small florescent with him to use to check microwave ovens for leakage?

Hello,
I recently heard (from an appliance repairman...reputable fellow) the CFs contain mercury.
Any truth to this?
