[GBlist] Green McMansion but an interesting website

I posted the attached message yesterday and then had a request for the architect's name.  In digging it out, I found the project had a website and checked it out.  If it wasn't for the 14,000 sf house plus the 2000 sf indoor pool, we would be applauding their commitment to Green building.  www.housingzone.com/projects/greenhouse/index.asp  It is a good site.  I am going to steal their content for my own marketing.

Too bad the site doesn't go to completion.  The magazine has pictures of the project and it is big and bloated and poorly detailed.  Maybe the public learned that big and grandiose is not human and pleasant.

I checked out the web sites for both the architect and builder.  They both seem like well intentioned people.  The architect is Bill Stycznski at www.swa-architects.com and the builder is Scott Sevon at www.sevvonco.com.  Do you think they would appreciate feedback from people on this list?

Subject: And just what did they learn?

"Touring the $4 million dollar 14,700 square-foot marvel with three kitchens, an elevator, an indoor pool and lanai, a putting green and a driving range (not inside. don't be silly) in Glen Ellyn, IL proved to be a learning experience for the 2,000 plus people who ventured inside. Appropriately named Millennium II, the luxuriously appointed home is a model of healthy, energy-efficient and eco-friendly construction techniques and materials.  Recognized as the first health house in Illinois, this house promises a superior indoor environment - free  of pollen, mold and mildew, and harmful fumes."
