Re: [GBlist] House sizes

Since the subject has come up, does anyone know where I could find out, or
find information to calculate, average house size for a family
worldwide? I'd love to include as much as possible, to be as accurate as
possible -- including shanty towns and people living in cardboard boxes on
city streets. I'd also like to know about average energy usage worldwide,
and for various climate zones.. I'm thinking about writing an article
describing what is the current average lifestyle, and suggesting that maybe
we (humanity) need to develop some sort of consensus on what we would
*like* the average lifestyle to be, how much is too much and how much is
too little -- as well as how many people the world can sustainably hold at
that level, and how much of the world's resources would be left for
non-human life... you know, the big picture! Perhaps this has already been
done, and someone can suggest where to find it?
Thanks very much,
-- Susannah
