the university of north carolina at asheville is aggressively pursuing
sustainability issues. we are currently in the design phase (consultants
already hired) of a new facilities management building project, and we will
have a sustainability workshop on january the 10th, 2002.
concurrently, we are interested in having a "mini" trade show with vendors
plying all their sustainable wares during this workshop. while the intent of
this "trade show" and workshop is specifically for the new facilities
management building, there is over $80 million in construction planned over
the next five years.
If you are located near asheville, we would love to have you at our
workshop. (future community oriented workshops are planned). we are interested
in ALL facets of sustainability (we are using LEED as our guideline). SOME
areas of interest are listed below, but this list is not intended to encompass
all facets of our interest:
vegitative roofs, deconstruction, construction recycling, recycling,
electric/natural gas/LP vehicles/mowers/buggies, photovoltaics, radiant
