Dear Melissa,

It happens that I have stumbled into involvement with two different
"green building" projects in the Triangle area and have learned of quite
a few people. I'd be happy to list a few from my notes on the subject:

Architects:

Giles Blunden - Passive solar design. Won Natural Home Building Contest.
919-967-8505, Gilesblundenarchitect.com

Mark Marcopolis - Author of articles in Building Trade magazine.

Frank Harmon - Currently working on a LEEDS platinum design.

G. Walker Hagens - I heard he has an interest in rammed earth. 919-967-9670.

Design/Contractors:

Red Dirt Natural Builders - 336-376-3107 clay, straw, stone, wood,
bamboo, thatch, rammed earth, and creative re-use building solutions.
Design, construction, consultation.

Lisa Wilson - Consultant for residential design and liscenced contractor.
Interested in Straw Bale. 919-557-0870

I hope this is helpful,
Airlie Sattler Rose
