[GBlist] Art park - Concrete mosaic questions

Hello folks -- I have a whole list of questions, since i am just now taking a role as advisor to a non-profit that is putting in an art park in Providence RI.

They want to do outdoor mosaic work into cement table tops, bench tops, and path "stones". We are considering the options, and i have these questions:
1. has anyone done functional outdoor mosaic work? We would like to embed either ceramic or broekn glass directly into mortar. Does anyone know how that will weather?
2. Broken glass mosaic? Does anyone know if that will weather use if we use small pieces? By use i mean walking or sitting or eating, etc.
3. I know there are people on this list who can give me links to plastic planking manufacturers (TREX?) in case we decide to build the tables out of that instead?
4. Does anyone have infoprmation about dying concrete and outdoor weathering?
5. Fire-proofing wood? I have heard of a spray chemical service, which seems utterly toxic -- Any info out there?
