The Ecological Footprint is a project now being run by Redefining Progress
in Oakland, California. The website below will take you to a web-based
quiz that introduces (in simplified form) the methodology for calculating
a personal Ecological Footprint. A more detailed questionnaire is also
available there.
Redefining Progress also calculates footprints of nations, cities and
counties in the US and around the world. The personal (household)
calculator is just the most popular window onto this way of assessing
approximately how much of the world's finite stuff each of us is laying
claim to.
