Re: [GBlist] building inspector

Jeannie, I would haunt GP because they ultimately are responsible for the
engineering of their material. If their one engineer can not answer clear
questions on site, then they sent the wrong guy (who may not have been an
engineer) and they can send another one. Call them and keep on calling
until you reach someone who can help you right now. And keep track/record
of who you've talked to and what they've said. Shame on the inspector too.
I too would call his supervisor and write a letter to your city/county
offices about this. Were your GP products not specifically written into
the plans that you had to show the building people to get a permit? The
problem of course may be that the inspectors have way too much to do, the
situation in many jurisdictions where a lot of building is going on; think
you are correct about treading easy with them as they can make the ongoing
project pretty miserable.

I've used building inspectors to help me vis a vis recalcitrant subs, so it
goes both way.
