RE: [GBlist] Heating backup for masonry fireplace



We're building a similar sized house, super-insulated, passive solar, and are planning on propane backup heat.  We've designed in a masonry stove, but are holding off on having it built until living in the space for a winter and finding out how much heat is really needed.  

Here's a link to some top-of-the-line heaters for propane or natural gas.  They can be gotten much cheaper if you don't mind the unvented kind.
