Hi,
At the risk of getting on some folks' nerves, I
just wanted to write in and thank everyone for the suggestions and understanding
of my situation with the trailer shading predicament. I think my neighbors
will think I am nuts when I get to erecting this "sun barrier", but
whatever.
Just for those who asked, I live in the
southernmost tip of SC in Beaufort about 10 miles from the ocean. We are
in the flood plain and therefore our trailer is set up high, approximately 7
feet up to the floor, and our house will be too, when we get that far.
Anyway, it is ridiculously humid here although we have been under drought
conditions for much of the past decade (go figure).
Anyway, the main thing I want to do is shade the
western side (which also happens to be the front) of the trailer. I have
also seen the things that one of you wrote about , what I call an extra roof for
a trailer, but since this trailer is slowly crumbling into dust I am not going
to spend money on one of those. But seriously, the main problem comes from
mid-to-late afternoon sun. I am reminded of that episode of the simpsons
where monty burns raises a sun-shade over the town of springfield and says
"since the dawn of time, man has yearned to destroy the sun". It is that
hot!!!!
Please feel free to contact me off list if you have
anymore suggestions.
