There's also an MDF being made from bagasse, which is the remaining stalk
from sugar cane after they get out the sugar. They use formaldehyde-free
binder in a closed system. (Basically a similar idea to wheatboard, but
it's rated as an MDF, not a particleboard.)

Company:	Acadia
Product:	Duracane
Contact:	318-367-8542 or mailto:duracane@bellsouth.net

for an article from Carbohydrate Economy check out:

Turning_Sugar_Cane_into_Duracane.htm

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Ralph Bicknese

Did a little research...
went to http://www.medite.com/products/mdf/mdf_medite3D02.htm
and if you look at the bottom of the page, in small print, there is a
warning...

WARNING: Medite 3-D contains formaldehyde. Formaldehyde may cause health
problems such as eye and respiratory irritation and may aggravate
respiratory conditions or allergies. Medite 3-D is not to be used in
enclosed areas where formaldehyde could be a problem unless properly sealed.
Information on effective sealing methods and materials is available from
SierraPine

so be careful which one u use...
