[GBlist] Re: Big Green: Washington area green buildings

Hi Alex,

A couple of projects in the "area" are:

Marine Sciences Building at University of New England in Biddeford by
VanDam and Renner in Portland. You might contact Rick Renner at
207.775.0443 or rrenner@vdrarch.com for directions and a campus contact.

Environmental Center at Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset by Theodore and
Theodore Architects also of Wiscasset. Contact them at 207.882.8494 or
T2Arch@T2Arch.com.

Each of these buildings has some interesting green elements.

There's also a groundswell of interest in green building among colleges in
Maine in the last two years, as evidenced by -and promoted by- the Maine
Green Campus Consortium, a cooperative effort by representatives from most
schools in Maine. NOt many completed projects yet, but there's hope -a lot
of hope.

If you're making a pit stop in Freeport Friday anyway, give a call and I'll
put the pot on for tea.

Best,
Lance
