Michael,
One caveat on milk paint- not recommended for use in hot climates.
Unless used immediately this paint can spoil (sour) and cause even worse
problems. I remember reading about a case in CA where it was used, but
had already soured. The homeowner became extremely ill and the end
result was that, because it had gotten into the wallboard, all the
wallboard had to be replaced.
