[GBlist] Paint Colorants (was Sherwin Williams paint question)

Colortrend is a zero VOC colourant (see below) - looks like we don't have to live in a pastel world after all...

The Colortrend Plus system we use consist of 12 colors: Lamp Black, Exterior
Yellow, Yellow Oxide, Pthalo Blue, Pthalo Green, Red Oxide, Brown Iron
Oxide, Exterior Red, Medium Yellow, Magenta, White, Raw Umber.

With these 12 colorants and the Safecoat paint, we can tint 1000's of colors
from off-white to black. Depending on how dark the color is, we would use
one of four bases: pastel, tint, deep or accent. The pastel base is our
Pure White, but will accept a small amount of pigment for light colors. The
other bases contain less white to begin with, thus allowing us to produce
darker colors.

Again, my only experience with these pigments has been with the Safecoat
line. You would have to contact the paint manufacturer your working with to
determine compatibility. Keep in mind, most Zero or Low VOC paints on the
market contain acetone. Acetone is considered a "non-regulated" chemical in
the US, so it doesn't have to be disclosed. I'm not sure what affect
acetone might have on the Plus pigments.
