Well, one way to look at the energy use is that I have to get into the 
crispers and so on in the bottom of my fridge several times a day.  I have 
to get into my freezer section maybe three times a week.
Bending over several times to get into the crisper or a very few times to 
get into the freeezer is a significant energy saving for me!!  <(^o^)>
